Steve Burke
With nearly 40 years in the tyre industry, over 15 of those as Toyo’s technical manager, Steve Burke is a true technical authority. His early background in motorsport (both two- and four-wheels) gave him a solid grounding in automotive performance. Since then, he’s tested tyres on closed circuits and across long-term trials, trained Toyo staff and dealers, and provided in-depth technical advice to everyday drivers and hardcore 4WDers alike.
Steve’s day-to-day work includes providing pressure recommendations, fitting advice, and failure diagnostics, often called upon by authorities for accident investigations. He’s worked across the full spectrum: industrial and earthmover tyres, light and heavy truck, passenger, and motorsport. These days, with Toyo’s expanding focus on SUVs and 4WDs, he’s also a regular presenter at off-road events and 4WD shows, giving enthusiasts first-hand insights into what makes a tyre work, and what doesn’t.
David Wilson
David’s 4WD journey began as a teenager along South Australia’s Coorong and Ninety Mile Beach - a brutal, beautiful place to learn the art of sand driving. That coin-drop moment sparked a lifelong passion that evolved into Adventure 4WD, his training business that’s been guiding 4WDers for over 30 years.
An expert communicator, David’s knack for translating technical off-road concepts into plain English is matched only by his willingness to challenge myths and push the conversation forward. He’s trained thousands, from everyday drivers to military personnel, and has worked with every level of government, countless service providers, and most major automotive brands.
His resume includes co-developing the prototype Bushmaster vehicle for the Australian Army, producing and presenting Australia’s first dedicated 4WD TV show Beyond the Bitumen, and contributing to publications across Australia and the UK. He’s currently a lead trainer and ambassador for Isuzu Ute Australia’s I-Venture Club.
