CHARTING THE UNCHARTED: SERIOUSLY SERIES RETURNS TO THE AUSSIE OUTBACK

“Whenever I look at a map and see Cape York or the Simpson Desert I think ‘yeah that’s great’, but it’s those parts in the middle where no one has been - that’s what gets me excited and gets me out of bed every morning!” beams Geoff Lewis, the intrepid explorer behind Seriously Series and some of the country’s most ambitious (and beautifully-shot) 4x4 content.

Geoff’s relationship with Toyo tyres begins several years and many adventures ago, and together with his beloved Land Rovers, he’s been making adventure content that’s celebrated (and awarded!) the world over.

One of their previous projects, Road to Ruin, has been shown at 17 International Film Festivals and collected no less than ten awards. It’s just about to go live on various streaming services in 25 countries - just in time for its successor Dust and Dreams to enjoy its cinematic release and tour of the Film Festival circuit later this year.

One thing that makes the content so relatable and enjoyable has to be Geoff’s passion - not only for exploring, but also for the classic Land Rovers, which we’re sure run a close third position on the famed list of Hollywood’s most troublesome co-stars!

“We joke about the vehicles because we’re not using conventional tourers, but there’s something nostalgic about the Land Rovers - like the old Leyland Brothers or Bush Tucker Man content,” he explains of his affinity to the Land Rover platform.

So what does it take to prepare the classis Land Rovers for some of the most torturous off-road terrain in the world? “It depends on the trip,” says Geoff matter-of-factly. “If we’re only going on a short trip we can get them ready in a day, but for the big filming trips it’ll be months of work. We’re constantly refining the set ups,” he adds.

One part of the vehicles Geoff is proud they don’t have to worry about are the Open Country M/Ts they run. “One of our Land Rovers has had the same set of Open Country M/T tyres on it for six years and has never had a puncture, even after all our trips,” Jeff boasts.

As well as the release of Dust and Dreams, Geoff and the Seriously Series team have two other exciting trips planned for this year, including an ambitious world-first attempt! We’ll keep you updated as the crew’s preparations ramp up.
